Alba Community Foundation

The Alba Community Foundation was founded in 2010, two years after the community foundations movement was born in Romania. Thus, as of 2010, philanthropic contributions and the activity of community leaders in Alba began to take place in an organized setting, where their efforts would have tangible results.
In the first year of activity, the Foundation set up the YouthBank Fund, with the support of several local initiatives started by Alba students. Things did not stop there, and a year later the Foundation supported eight youth community initiatives through the fund they had set up a year earlier.
The year 2012 saw continuing support for the YouthBank Fund, which funded nine projects which targeted areas such as entrepreneurship, youth professional counseling, culture, social issues, or tourism.
The Foundation has grown each year, following the line drawn from the very beginning, namely investing in young people by providing scholarships and by supporting the projects proposed by them. Young people will carry the legacy of the community foundations movement, therefore it’s not only natural, but also beneficial to invest in their development and abilities.
"The Alba Community Foundation and its partners invest trust and resources in the young people in Alba, so that they can do the same with the younger generations in the future. To improve their skills constantly and to want to be better, to succeed in the labor market and in life, "says the foundation's team. Youthbank Alba program offered, up to 2017, 63 grants whose beneficiaries were 26,625 local residents.
In total, by 2017, Alba Community Foundation has invested in 175 projects and provided funding in excess of 472,534 lei.
